Toseland furious with decision
The race this sunday in Australia seemed great for all riders, until James Toseland, trailing for fifth, got asked to do a drive through penalty because of a jump start. This horrible and race threatening decision by Race Direction left him all the way back in 14th place. Right after the race James viewed his start several times, and even took it up with the Race Direction. The decision stayed, and he stayed in 14th. This made him furious, but he knew he was helpless to change anything. This is a horrible punishment to have, and honestly very confusing. A small offense like that, even if it REALLY happened, wouldnt even get a drive through penalty. Drive throughs come from something like preventing lappers to overtake. His anger is understandable, but there is nothing he can do about it. He just hopes he can prove to the Race Decision that he can infact ride and get a good result at the moto gp in Sepang, Malaysia.
This story is very intruiging, as something similar has happened to me many times before. It is unacceptable that people do this, and it needs to be stopped. Also, i didnt get to watch the race and was just catching up on news.

The exercise we did this week in the journalism tutorial really made me wonder if journ as a whole is the right way to go. What we did was pointless, mindless, and as far as I could see, there was nothing that was beneficial. We started off the tut with a page with many circles inside of each other. We had to put our name in the first circle, and then each bigger circle had to be someone of lesser relation to me. From there, we had to write down what each of those people, including us, would do on any usual day. Their whole day plan. This took up about half the tutorial and from here I still didn’t understand what this was for. We were then asked to compare each persons day plan, and check which things were similar. I still, after this, didn’t understand why this exercise would be useful in any way, shape, or form. This seemed more to me like a waste of time than something productive. Something the journ department set up just so they could have us do something in the tut. It almost seems as if they were unprepaired, and instead of losing face, just make up a bullshit assignment for us to do. I really did expect to have a result after this exercise. I though that just maybe their was a point to what we were doing. But no. We didn’t even have to hand them in. I was dumbfounded, and felt as if I was in a 2nd grade class room. Why would we do such a lame and stupid up assignment that wouldn’t even be graded or cared about? What was the purpose of writing ours and others day plans out? So we could plan a fucking party? Whatever is going on, it seems action needs to be taken. We aren’t learning a thing and seem to be wasting all of our time doing fuck all.

Another fight over Jackson?
America and the rest of the music world are in two about the recent announcements of the nominations of the American Music Awards. Looks like the awards people just cant get things right this year? According to Los Angeles Times, AMA failed deeply in getting it right, because now Taylor Swift will loose again and this time a dead man. This time not only her spotlight but awards which she earned. As if other musicians like the late MJ did not work. Personally I think swift can get over it because the awards are based on best sales and her album didn't sell best, thus she can’t get the award. De!!!
Other news websites such as CBS NEWS and ABC NEWS reported on this event with fairness and a bit of objectivity, even though I don't think there is no such thing as objectivity. They just gave facts such as how many awards Jackson is nominated for and what categories. I think that LA Times were just being typically provocative and hysterical because they know that Jackson fans like myself would visit their website and try to find out what it is they are saying about my hero. This is just bad journalism but a good way to get sales booming and their website figures up. Lame!!!!!

Vegetarian Spider Gives Me Hope

The recent discovery of a vegetarian spider, Bagheera kiplingi, has got scientists abuzz. This rare species of spider lives throughout Mexico and feeds on plants. I particularly enjoyed reading about this piece as it instills a sense of bewilderment within myself. Out of 40 000 species of spiders, all thought to be predators, there is the one exception. This discovery makes me feel like there is a whole undiscovered world out there-I may move on from Rhodes to discover something no one has yet; i may experience something no one lese has yet; I could be the exception!
